Zombie Daytime Attack Leads To Quarantine In UK. ZWN (AP) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK
Posted Oct. 3rd. 2014
In the southern British town of Stevenage, a potentially serious outbreak of necro- mortosis, commonly known as the ‘zombie virus,’ was averted today.
Phone calls from panicked residents started flooding the local emergency services mid afternoon today as an unidentified man, in an advanced state of necrosis, was witnessed attempting to attack locals.
Emergency services were quick to resond. Not knowing the situation or the extent of the outbreak, they decided to keep all those in contact with the undead assailant, at a safe distance.
But, what was assumed to be a standard zombie neutralization, took a dangerous turn when word was relayed to the responding crew that no armed backup was available.
British police traditionally carry no firearms. A special request for armed backup is standard procedure. But another, unrelated incident across town, meant that all available units were busy and none would be available anytime soon.
The emergency and hazmat teams had to make a dangerous decision. The infection was clearly spreading. Others were now showing early symptoms of necrosis. It would only be a matter of time before they too became reanimates.
So a decision was made. Singling out the victim who showed the most aggression, they were able to separate him from the others and tackle and bind him. During the struggle, it was suspected that some of the fire men may have been bitten.
All suspected mortosis carriers were captured and taken to the emergency quarantine facility hastily set up on site.
Sadly, 4 people were confirmed to have contracted necro-mortosis, and 4 others, including the 2 firemen are awaiting the results of their quarantine.
As for the unidentified reanimate reported earlier? he was tracked down and shot by a police sniper
