Cold Weather Across Europe, Helps Freeze the Undead
Posted Dec. 12st. 2010, ZWN (AP)

Northern Europe may be facing increasingly harsh winters as a direct result of global warming, say climate scientists at Britain's metrological society.

However, this is not all bad news for many. Whilst much of Europe is caught in the severe chill of a cold snap, a much needed break has been handed to security forces everywhere. The big chill has frozen and therefore incapacitated many of the roaming undead.

If the current Atlantic high pressure system continues, the sub tropical air it has trapped, will not reach Europe for quite a while. But the blankets of snow that have descended on much of Britain, France and Northern Europe have essentially stopped the advancement of necro-mortosis spreading outside quarantine zones and across borders.

Police and state troops have confirmed a sharp rise in incidents of undead roamers, reportedly frozen solid or in many cases 'stuck' to buildings and cars. This is mainly due to the blood from open wounds freezing upon contact with cold surfaces.

"It certainly has been a benefit, It's made our job a lot easier" said UK Defense departments spokesperson Justin Lattimer in an exclusive interview with ZWN. “We’ve had unprecedented levels of snow over the last couple of days. We have found reanimates frozen solid in fields, stuck in hedgerows, frozen in lakes. At least 37 have been confirmed so far since Friday alone."

Fields of snow, frozen lakes and deep snow drifts are all proving too difficult for those of a zombified state. Left to wander and navigate through treacherous winter conditions. Authorities in some rural areas are reportedly overwhelmed with requests to secure and dispose of those stricken, and lost to the pandemic

Air travel update:
London’s Gatwick airport, the U.K.’s second busiest, will be closed until at least 7 a.m. local time, according to its website. Dublin suspended services after a plane struck a roaming undead upon take-off. As a precaution, the flight was recalled but their were no reports of injury. Air France-KLM Group called off all European flights from Amsterdam Schiphol after runways were covered in snow and ice. Airports in Edinburgh, Geneva and London City resumed operations during the day.
