Source Of Jamaican Outbreak-'M-Bomb' Factory
ZWN (AP) - Jamaica
Posted July 6th.2014

- It was confirmed by authorities today that the recent outbreak of necro-mortosis on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica, was caused by an accident at an illegal M-Bomb factory.

The drug 'M-bomb' was first reported by ZWN senior correspondent Race Barrington, back in 2007. Since then, the growth of this illegal drug industry has steadily risen. An 'M-Bomb; is the street name for splicing together 15 mg of amphetamines with 15 mg of the 'necro-mortosis.' virus. This 1:1 ratio gives the user a disconnected feeling. A unique numbness that only this drug can provide. However, withdrawals can be sever, and full blown zombification can be contracted within as few as 3-4 uses.

It is now thought that a small home based M-Bomb operation hidden in the' Dry Harbur Mountain' region, was ground zero for the devastating outbreak that has seen Jamaica quarantined since early May. According to police, there was an unspecified accident at the site, which caused one of the drug makers to contract the mortosis zombie virus. He in turn attacked others at the site and so the infection grew. Being that the area is so dense with vegetation and secluded from the main population of Jamaica, it took several days for the virus to take hold and spread into the general population.

ZWN Science editor Dr. Nancy Chan comments "It's entirely possible that this scenario played out just like police authorities suggest. When splicing M-Bombs you are dealing with a small but highly concentrated amount of the necro-mortosis virus. Only a minor cut or abrasion is all it would take for this to enter your blood stream. It's not like cooking meths, where a volatile state can cause an explosion, and it's not airborne like the flu. but once it's in your blood, you ARE infected. Their is no second chance."

In a desperate attempt to stem the flow of the virus at its source, the military has been employing a series of controlled fires to burn out any zombies still in the area. This was seen as an extreme measure by many, but a military spokesperson has insisted that "all possible precautions have been taken to alert local residents of the operation. They have had several days to comply to this temporary safety evacuation. We have aided in the relocation of any displaced resident. The fires are small and contained. We have avoided property damage wherever possible and no uninfected casualties have been reported at this time."

Since the discovery of the M-Bomb factory, several local residents have been arrested as part of a major police operation to clamp down on M-Bomb trafficking in the area.

World wide problem
"We recognize the M-bomb as a global issue." said World Health Authority spokesperson Dr. Anuk Craff. We have seen outbreaks in Canada, Australia, and many other parts of the world. In it's short history, it has made itself onto the list of top 5 most dangerous drugs in the world.

Quarantine update:
The island wide 'disease containment' is still in effect. Travel to and from Jamaica is strictly prohibited without a health clearance. It is too early to say what damage this will have on Jamaica's long term economy, but the importing and exporting of goods has been severely restricted. The tourists industry temporarily put on hold, and the death count from the epidemic has reached over 1000.

"We are hoping that the outbreak is plateauing" said Dr. Shay Charred, Head of quarantine coordination. "We are seeing fewer cases lately. People are learning to live with the presence, albeit temporary, of the zombie virus in their lives and starting to take better precautions."
