How One Mining Company Defends Against Undead Trespassers
As a gesture of mediation, the company hired security guards, 7 of them, to patrol the vast company property. After 3 weeks only 4 guards remained. The other 3 were all found in various stages of walking de composure. Their zombified corpses were captured and confiscated by local authorities, and a general 'Undead hot zone' was declared.
Bounty hunters arrive
After 7 more day, 2 of the teams had been wiped out completely and the third sped away almost as quickly as it had arrived.
And that's why Marsden Mining Company got creative. 'Jimbo', is a 19ft alligator and 'security guard'. Jimbo is the pet of Davis Gilguard, project manager at Marsdens. He donated the 7 year old pet after realizing that a well placed gator in the southern sector of the site would act as a brutal but effective guard against undead intruders wandering towards unsuspecting miners.
So far, Jimbo has been credited with re killing up to 15 zombified trespassers. However, it seems that Jimbo may be loosing his taste for the undead. In recent weeks he has virtually ignored several close contact opportunities. Its theorized that his lack of appetite may be attributed to gator's prefering their meat live, or at least raw. The decayed after taste isn't sitting too well with Jimbo. "It may be time to retire him for a while" said owner Gilguard
Additionally, Marsden's has tripled the security teams patrolling the area, as well as installing several miles of electric fencing. This has dramatically reduced the amount of undead attacks but workers are still uneasy about mining the more remote areas.
A spokesperson for Marsdens said "The company is committed to providing safety to its employees. We are currently in negotiations with a local aircraft company to hire daily helicopter fly by's as an added means of protection."
