New York Subway Gets 'All clear' - No Undead Presence. As a free lance reporter, I was happy to accept this assignment, a trip to new york, albeit it's subways, is always a welcome change from the bleached heat of LA. I arrived late Thursday evening. Met at JFK by a driver I was whisked away immediately. I found out later that the drivers haste was because the one and only 'sweep' was scheduled for midnight. I am not sure why such an ominous time. I would like to think the NYPD had a sense of theatrics, but it was probably something to do with the scheduling of trains and usage of the system. Just why I was granted access was a mystery. I suspect it had something to do with ZWN threatening to investigate regardless and the NYPD had enough on it's plate without panic and rumor fanning the flames of paranoia. Our

I have no answer as to exactly who the unidentified figure was. It could have been a homeless subway dweller. It makes sense. A living thinking person would try to evade detection from our search. A mortosis reanimate would be attracted to us. It may sound odd coming from a reporter, but I am relieved that our story turned up negative. A mortosis outbreak in New York would be devastating. We all remember how the whole central nervous system of the USA was thrown into chaos after 9/11. The very notion of a full blown undead plague within Manhattan would be beyond comprehension.
